Dad is scheduled for some preliminary testing on Tuesday December 4th.  This testing is to make sure his heart and everything is strong enough to go through the stem cell transplant procedure.  Will update as information comes available.

Upgraded to Windows 8 and lost my Google username information for the previous blog.  Here it is again but I can actually sign in to this one.  

Dad is responding well to the chemo treatments, though we weren’t so sure a month and a half ago, and is entering the next phase of treatment.  He will be going to St. Louis after Thanksgiving to have stem cells captured.  This is to setup for the bone marrow transplant procedure which should be the last step towards clearing the myeloma .  

This entire illness has been extremely rough on him up to this point but he is gaining momentum towards recovery.  Dad is very strong and though he felt like giving up at times, he fought through like the trooper we all know him to be.
