I forgot to update the post yesterday so - Dad had his final round of Pheresis yesterday.  After he was done we went back to the Haven House and he rested the remainder of the evening.  I could tell he was physically sick but seemed to be in much better spirits after he got some rest.

We got up about 6:45 this morning and packed.  We left the Haven House and headed home eager to get back to some good country air and our own beds.  We stopped in Kingdom City at the Denny's where Dad finally ate a good meal and drank some coffee.  We arrived at his house at around 11:45 this morning.

I carried in all of his luggage and I could see Dad was feeling much better than he had all week.  He started unpacking and I actually saw him smile for the first time in a while.

We are now waiting for his doctor at Barnes Jewish to schedule the bone marrow replacement procedure.

I will update as this information becomes available......

We are back from the emergency room.  Dad was pretty impatient having to lay in the bed waiting on the doctor to make a determination.  They decided to send him back to the Haven House and told him to keep fresh gauze applied to the area.  Dad said his stomach is really bothering him but he isn't eating much.

Can't wait until this week is over so we can get him home and back to his normal activities.

I will keep posting as things progress......

Dad'z Pheresis port "Picc Line" started bleeding tonight so we took him to the emergency room at the Barnes hospital across the street.  They said they can not re-dress or replace the port "Picc Line" so they are applying pressure to stop the bleeding and doing blood work to check his platelets.

More later.....  :(
Dad did not meet his goal of 5,000,000 stem cells.  He is at 3,770,000 and will have to do one more round. We pray that will be the end of this process so he can move on to the final stage.

We are on our way back to the hospital so he can get his Mozobil shot.  This is the one that causes his bones to ache and stimulates the stem cells for collection.

More later.....
Dad had his second go around of Pheresis (Stem Cell Collection) today.  The Pheresis and shots have been pretty rough on him.  He has been in a lot of pain, unfortunately the pain pills are little comfort.  He has also suffered dizzy spells and many other symptoms from them as well.

We are waiting to find out if he will need another go around, praying he is finished.  If they have collected enough stem cells as of today we can pack and head home tomorrow morning.  If they haven't reached the goal set for collection he will have to endure another 5-6 hours of Pheresis.

I will post more when we have the updates available.

Well Dad had all of his shots in preparation for the stem cell harvesting procedure.  He has to be at the hospital by 8 AM in the morning to begin the process.  He has been having a lot of bone aches and pains.  I am sure he is looking forward to this week ending.  I completely understand.

Dad is scheduled to start the next procedure this Friday.  He will be there for 4 - 5 days as they capture stem cells for the final step of his treatment.  Tiffany will take Dad to Barnes on Thursday to get everything setup and settled in to the lodge.  I will go on Monday to stay with Dad and bring him home once they are done.

Jason took Dad to St Louis today for the testing.  Unfortunately I am under the weather and was unable to go.

I just talked with Dad and he said he is pretty worn out.  He said Barnes Jewish will contact him about the next phase of his treatment once they have reviewed all of the test results.  Dad said they were talking about doing the next procedure after the first of the year but Jason asked if they could do it sooner.

We will have to wait and see.....
